Grandma.....

I stole this post from my sister Jill's Blog. I wanted to write something about our weekend, but for some reason, can never say it as good as Jill.

Did you know I'm Mormon? Well, I am. My mom wasn't raised Mormon or "LDS". She converted when she was 19.

My maternal grandpa thought our church was a "business". My mom was married to my dad in the Salt Lake City Temple.

Her parents were not there.

My mom's brother, uncle Jim, was around when the first three nieces were born. (Me and my sisters) Shortly after my brother was born my uncle received a pamphlet about overpopulating the Earth.

My mom took his chance of having children by having 5, or so he thought.

That pamphlet put the idea into his head that severed our relationship.

Just before my Grandma died in October, he started coming around and being friendly. We just met in Spokane this last weekend to spread Grandma's ashes.

This is Uncle Jim now. Shown with Erin's first, Eliza.

If anyone can unite a family, it's definitely Eliza!

We chose to spread Grandma's ashes along one of the trails she hiked. She was an avid hiker and her hiking group actually made an award with a pair of her most used hiking shoes. They had holes everywhere.
Grandma had such a reverence for fun. Kids are supposed to have FUN!! I love the stories of my mom's childhood because they include memories of traveling out of the country and floating down rivers. In her memory, I will try to seek tranquil, outdoor freshness and remember that fun memories will always take precedence over sad ones.

Here's to Grandma. Here's to FUN!!

Thanks Jill for your thoughts. It was such a fun weekend and good to remember Grandma and what she loved most!!

We have a crawler!!!

Yesterday Justin started crawling!! He never really scooted, or army crawled, just rolled around a little so we are so surprised at this milestone. I don't know if this is a good thing, but at least now he can get away from his sister a little faster!

4 months old

I am finally posting. I know I haven't said much about our latest addition so here he is.....
Justin. He is 4 months old. Crazy!! He is such a sweet boy. He is so easy going, never really cries, is happy to just hang out and sleeps and eats like a champ. He is always good for a smile and has this shyness about him that is so cute. He is a big boy and is breaking my back lugging around that carseat of his, but we love him!! I have to admit that when I found out I was pregnant with him I wanted a girl. I was SURE it was a girl too. I still wasn't convinced I would like a boy when he was born (maybe it was that we didn't have a name and still don't know if we picked the right one) but now he is as Eliza would say our "special favorite". At his 4 month checkup he was 19lbs. 10oz and 27 inches long (holy cow)!!!

He melts my heart!!
We are still not sure where our kids get these huge eyes.

My boob tubers!! They both like to watch TV. Eliza loves Justin. She is constantly hugging and kissing him and if she can't see him she askes, "Mom wheres Bubs?" She has called him Baby Bubba since before he was born (we think she just had a hard time saying Baby brother). At first I didn't really like Bubba but now its kinda cute. She switches between bubba, bubs, bubby, budda. He loves her just as much and can sit for hours just watching her. He will sit in his jumperoo and watch her dance and if she goes out of the room, he will whine until she returns.
